Legal
Terms of business
Last updated 17 October 2026
These are the terms we work to. They sit alongside your legal rights, they do not replace them.
Quotes
- Visits and quotes are free and carry no obligation.
- A written quote is held for 30 days. Materials prices move, so after that we may need to requote.
- A quote covers the work described in it. Groundworks sometimes uncover things nobody could see — buried concrete, services in the wrong place, a collapsed drain. If that happens we stop, show you, and agree the cost before carrying on. We will not add charges you have not approved.
Your right to cancel
If you agree to work at your home rather than at our office, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give you 14 days to cancel from the day you agree, without giving a reason. We will give you this in writing with your quote.
If you want us to start inside that 14-day period you can ask us to, in writing. You keep the right to cancel, but you would then pay for the work done up to the point you cancelled.
Doing the work
- We need access to the working area, and to water and a power socket where the job calls for it.
- Please tell us about anything buried — drains, electrics to a shed or hot tub, irrigation, soakaways. We survey what we reasonably can, but we cannot see everything.
- Some of the work is carried out by subcontract trades we have worked with and chosen. You contract with us, we pay them, and we remain responsible for the job.
- Weather stops groundworks. We will keep you posted and we do not charge for days lost to it.
Payment
- On larger jobs we ask for a materials deposit, agreed and set out in the quote before anything is ordered.
- The balance is due on completion, by bank transfer.
- We will always give you an invoice.
Our guarantee
We guarantee our workmanship for 5 years against settlement of the area we repaired or built.
It does not cover:
- Misuse, or loads the surface was never built for — vehicles on a patio, for example
- Ground movement caused by drains, tree roots or water ingress
- Work carried out or altered by anyone else
- Normal weathering, efflorescence or colour variation in the paving itself
Manufacturers' guarantees on materials are passed to you as they stand. None of this affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which require us to carry out the work with reasonable care and skill.
If something goes wrong
Tell us. Ring 07405 588966 or email info@citulandscaping.co.uk and we will come and look. We would much rather come back than leave a job we are not happy with.
